GET SHOT READING is a city wide reading awareness campaign initiated by Hippocampus, to promote reading through the art of photography in Bangalore and Chennai. This photography competition is only for children. To participate, children need to submit a photograph of READING IN ACTION.

ENTRY
Entry forms are available online for download or can be picked up at the Hippocampus Children’s Experience Centres – (Koramangala & Basavanaudi for Bangalore and Nandanam for Chennai).
Entry forms have to be submitted at the Koramangala Centre in Bangalore and Nandanam Centre in Chennai.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
Anyone below the age of 15 years and who has access to a camera that can produce photographs of the required resolution can take part in this competition.

Hey Ashley,
Thank you for registering. You can go ahead and do a touch up of your photos. But touch up here is only color correction, brightness and contrast. You cannot add an element or remove it from the picture. Also you will need to submit the original photo and the altered one for the judges to decide.

What if I have a picture I just want to share, of my kids reading? I am not a kid and can’t participate in the competition, but just want to share this picture with you all. Where do i send it?
You can submit the photo and i will put it up on our blog and facebook page in the non participating category. The vision behind this event was to promote reading through photographs and photography. So we would like to feature your picture on the blog but it will not be eligible for the competition and the exhibition. You may send the photo to hippocampus2010@gmail.com.

You can send in your photos to hippocampus2010@gmail.com or drop off a CD at Hippocampus. In case the centre is closed please leave it with the security but make sure you add a note to it giving your full name and the purpose of the CD in a cover.
